Which of your current endeavors are you most passionate about?  What is the biggest challenge you face?

Placing SCOPE and Smiley in the hands of eager users.  Having a citizen science project and a robotic instrument with which to share astronomy cements the idea that we should all endeavor to be scientifically literate enough to take advantage of the opportunity to try this stuff.

Who inspires you these days?

Sir Ken Robinson holds the honor today because of how his words have expressed the frustrations experienced by many learners in today’s world.  I see my mission as an educator being part of the search for solutions to those frustrations.  I also receive inspiration from the learners I meet in my work.  They help me tweak and focus my work.

Imagine a world where you are unconstrained by bandwidth.  How would it change what you do and the people you serve?

I would have daily meetings available with students.  Video and other data would stream in the conversations as needed to enhance peer tutoring and problem solving using the various perspectives that happen to be available.  Many connections to reach a final solution are needed in the digital world today.

You are in an elevator.  How would you describe what you do?

First, I see how far down it will go without a pass key.  Second, I figure out how many people it will carry.  Third, I load the elevator with as many people as I can convince to ride up to all the other floors <very Charlie and the Chocolate Factory> helping them find new experiences.  I get off at the roof so I can see the sky again and start back down to try again.
