Overview

In 1927 Japan sent 58 dolls to the US as ambassadors of good will. These dolls travelled and met students all around the states they travelled to, until around WWII when some of the dolls were lost, and others were put away. We are trying to reunite these original dolls, telling their histories and stories over the past 80 years over Internet2 in an ongoing program. We are seeking to connect museums with other museums in this program, as well as involving public audiences through ancilary programs such as tea parties, programs for young children, and ongoing relationships. More information on the dolls can be found on this website, unrelated to this project: http://wgordon.web.wesleyan.edu/dolls/ This project made possible by a generous donation from Tandberg.
